Paloma Cocktail – Recipe and preparation

The Paloma cocktail is a drink of Mexican origin that has been very successful in recent years. In this article I will show you the recipe and the ingredients for its preparation!

INGREDIENTS

  • 50 ml white tequila
  • 30 ml of squeezed lime juice
  • 15 ml sciroppo d’agave
  • Top up grapefruit soda
  • SEAL: salt crust, grapefruit clove
  • ICE: cubes

TOOLS REQUIRED

  • GLASS: Tumbler alto
  • Shaker
  • Strainer
  • Colander
  • Barspoon
  • Save the citrus fruits

PREPARATION

There are two different techniques for the preparation of the Paloma cocktail. The first involves the technique build, going to pour all the ingredients directly into the glass.

Alternatively, lo is used shaker in order to better mix the agave syrup which is particularly thick. In both cases the Advice I can give you is to go to dilute the syrup with warm water, using two parts of water for each part of syrup.

As a first step, go to create what is called a salt crust on the edge of the glass. To do this, you first need to wet the same edge by passing a slice of lime and then pressing the glass on the salt. In this way the salt will remain attached to the juice and the crust will be created.

At this point go to fill the glass with ice and keep it aside. Similarly, fill the largest part of the shaker with ice. In the less capacious part instead you will have to pour the tequila, the squeezed lime juice and diluted agave syrup.

After pouring in the ingredients, drain the water that formed from the ice, close the instrument and shake for approx 10 seconds.

Before going to pour the drink into the glass, drain the water from the latter as well.

Filter the cocktail into the glass using the strainer inserted in the shaker and with the colander that you will have to place over the glass. To conclude the preparation of the paloma cocktail, fill the glass with grapefruit soda. I used the j brand. gasco but on the market you can easily find others.
