Negroni cocktail – Recipe and preparation

Negroni is an iba cocktail born in Italy over the years 20 of 900 when he was served to Count Camillo Negroni. The Negroni can be defined as a ‘twist‘ dell’American, another Italian cocktail that I already reserved an article for some time ago and that I invite you to read if you want to learn more about the evolution of Italian mixing.

The birth of the Negroni is precisely due to the addition of gin inside a classic Americano, at least this was the old recipe, a recipe that underwent modifications until it was known as the ones that are presented today on the iba list.

I remind you that at the bottom of the article you can find amazon affiliate links through which you can buy all the tools you need to make the Moscow mule. If you decide to use them, you will be able to support my work.

INGREDIENTS

  • 30 ml bitter Campari
  • 30 ml red Turin vermouth
  • 30 ml london dry gin
  • SEAL: Orange wedge
  • ICE: Cubes

TOOLS REQUIRED

  • GLASS: Tumbler basso
  • Barspoon
  • Jigger

PREPARATION

Being also in this case a drink prepared directly inside the glass, the preparation will be very simple. To prepare the Negroni, take the glass and fill it with ice cubes.

Mix the ice with the barspoon and chill the glass well, then drain the water that has formed.

Start by dosing the Campari with the jigger by pouring it into the glass and in the same way also the red vermouth and gin.

Stir to mix the ingredients well and garnish with the orange wedge and your Negroni will be ready.

For the original recipe, which I personally prefer as it is lighter, make an Americano and add to recipe 15 ml in london dry gin.
